I notice objects look a little bit heightened when stitch by PTGui vs DJI stitched photo.

I have PTGui Pro 13.9.

This one is stitch by PTGui. Look at the heightened cars.

Both  are view in the PTGui viewer and I took screenshot of it.

This one is done by DJI and notice the car not heightened and looks normal.

What Projection did you use? Easiest would be, you provide your project
file (just the .pts without the images would do).

This is what I use. I have the projection in Equirectangular.
For this photo I use this.pts

Hi Philip,

I see what you mean and I agree. I think the lens model in PTGui for the
new Avata needs some improvement.

Would you mind sharing your images with me at sup...@ptgui.com?

Thank you Jooost.

Here is the link to the files : https://we.tl/t-J7VFePRRFNUncpXD

I include the original JPG that DJI stitch where the cars looks normal so you can compare to the PTGui.

Hope to see an update soon. :-)

Until Joost fixes this, you can try the attached template.

After loading the images do File -> Apply Template -> Other and navigate
to the saved Avata.pts file.

Thank you Erik.

Once I load your template, it looks good.

When I click Run-Optimizer again, it gets just a little heighten again, but not as bad as before.

Let me know if you notice.

Thanks.

I use Erik template, it works great for this photo.

I try this template on another photo and I get slight horizon error when I do Erik's template. I try my best to swivel the horizon by doing "Edit Individual Images", but once I level one end, the other side is not level again.

BUT I don't want to run the Optimization (which will correct the horizon error) because it will heighten the photo.

Need help. LOL!

I did another set of photo and I see this infinite loop when I apply Erik's template.

Sorry, I forgot to reset some settings, namely the optimization of lens
correction parameters, which causes the heightening. I also disabled
Tone Mapping. It's attached.

If you want to level the panorama you would need to set appropriate
control points, of course.

You would level manually in "Edit Entire Panorama" mode. The left mouse
button drags the center up and down, the right mouse button rotates
around the center. Of course the rest of the panorama changes according
to its projection (more or less in a wave in 360°)

"Edit Individual Images" changes the single images therefore messing up
alignment.

Thank you Erik.

Now it doesn't get heightened when I do the Run-Optimization button.

NOW I have this problem. I like to edit my fisheyes and save it as 16 bit TIFF. When I apply Erik's template, I get this Infinity error loop again, see screenshot above, it says error about Line 30.

But if I stitch from fisheye DNG, not a problem.

Philip,  I reproduced the "Assertion failed" messages using Erik's template on TIFF files.  However, I tried replacing the DNG files in the template with TIFF files and the template then worked ok not only for TIFF files, but also for DNG files!  Template attached.

Thanks John. I will check it out later.

This time I got a crash using Erik's latest template and I was able to get a report. I hope Josh gets it and check it out.

Yes I got the crash report and was also able to reproduce the errors. I
assume they are caused by the same underlying bug. Will be fixed.
