Mr. Masuka developped Panorama Calculator - "PanoCell".

PanoCell can simulate various and high degree of freedom.

PanoCell is compatible with both Japanese and English.

I think, if possible, we use panoramic photographers of the world, and as long as you let us know what you think.

Hi Kenji,

This looks very useful indeed! In particular when shooting gigapixel
panoramas it allows you to quickly calculate the minimum number of
images for each row. Thanks for posting here.

Absolutely fantastic work, thank you for sharing this (and making it available in English!).

It also works well through Wine on Macs...

I always wanted to have a tool like this for my workshops to show students the different overlaps and shooting options.

Great stuff!

Kenji - it does look useful.
Is there and English language link? I tried all 4 links in this post and
those in your original post and all I get is (I guess) Japanese

Hi Bob,

Place the (2) files contained in the zipped file in their own folder; i.e., PanoCell.exe and PanoCell.ENU both under (for example) c:\panocell. The system's native language (English or English) determines how the DLL (.enu) displays the non-numeric characters.

Double clicking on certain cells auto-fills them or gives you a drop down list with values while others you'll need to enter values manually.

You can save individual sensor / lens combos (.pcd) and then load them the next time you run the application, which doesn't recall the last state of the cell value settings from the previous session. However, the app does recall window size and placement.

I still haven't figured out how to access specific camera selections / or editing camera database (under the Edit menu) and wonder if it is a future item perhaps for version 0.4 ?

This is really a marvelous application!

Thanks Kelly
I’ll look for the zip files – when I clicked the link a page opened up showing the calculator with, I’m guessing Japanese – didn’t see any zip, but I’ll look again
This calculator seems similar to one created by Frank van der Pol – an updated version is here:  http://www.hdrlabs.com/tools/panocalc.html

Hi Kelly,

When it operates it with Windows other than Japanese it is automatic and read English -ization DLL and become an English display.

There is not the exchangeability of a preservation file between the Japanese version and English edition.

When the English display is confirmed on Japanese Windows .
Please edit RegistoryKey.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Borland \ Locales
you make it and the full pass file name, value=enu of name=PanoCell. exe

Please add it.
