Dear PTGui,

I am trying to make a panorama for a 3d virtual tour.
Unfortunately I keep getting the same problem, whenever I try to stitch the panoramas together with the top panorama (from the ceiling or sky). does not align nicely with the rest.

I use a Sony A7III with a LAOWA 12mm F2.8 zero D sony e
I take a photo every 60 degrees, two facing down and turning 180 degrees and one facing up to the sky or ceiling ( in which i make sure that there are reference points in the scene)

I have added the panorama to this email for you to see what the problem is
could you be of any assistance?   I'm not sure if my settings are correct or anything needs any adjustments, I'm not that technical as a photographer.

Hi,

Let me take a look. Could you make your source images available for
download? For example using Dropbox, Google Drive, or if you don't use
these, wetransfer.com is the easiest way. If you cannot share the files
publicly, please share with support [at] ptgui.com.

Kind regards,

Hi Ferran,

You do not have enough overlap between the ceiling image and the other
images. See for example the smoke alarm unit in the ceiling: it's only
visible in the ceiling image, not in any other image.

Instead of shooting straight up, try shooting tilted at, say, 60 degrees.

Same for the nadir (down) shot: it's better to shoot tilted than
straight down. You'll have more overlap with the other rows, and the
nadir will still be covered.

Kind regards,

Tilting down (or up) doesn't work. I think the solution is to set the yaw angle for the zenith (and nadirs) as shown below.  There is then just about adequate overlap.  It should be just about doable.

Otherwise, there are just a few tiny black glitches.  My stitch:
