You can solve it by changing this:
Exposure/HDR tab - HDR Workflow:
Create blend planes first, then merge to HDR.
This way, PTGui performs exposure fusion on the blended panorama, not on
the individual source images. The latter may cause brightness
differences between the images.
I agree that this is not obvious, I'll see if the defaults need to be
changed here.
