Just today I upgraded to the pro version so I can access the HDR function. I'm trying to follow the tutorial step by step, but it appears the tutorial no longer matches what happens with the software. For instance, in either the True HDR or the Exposure Fusion processes, I'm not seeing the button that creates a small version of the pano on which I can adjust shadows, highlights, etc. I can't even guess my way around it. As it is, I just can't figure out how to do an HDR. Am I correct that the tutorial (under the heading "Older Tutorials") needs updating? Can you refer me to a more current tutorial? Thanks! (Tutorial here: https://ptgui.com/hdrtutorial.html)

David, Yes, the tutorial is out of date.  Several functions (including tone mapping) are now to be found in the Panorama Editor window:  there's a fly-out menu in the top right hand corner.  Click the "<" button in the corner to access it.  Tone mapping is now performed using the usual preview image in that window.

That's a big help, thank you. I was able to complete one. I hope there are plans to update the tutorial because I still don't understand some of the other functions, like what type of output to choose, and if that has changed with the updated software. And whether I should go with Tone Mapping or Exposure Fusion. I have much to learn, including masking. On my interior shots that include good exposure for the interior, but blown-out windows, I really want to be able to preserve the good bracketed exposure I have of the windows, and I suspect that may require masking. (The final is closer to correct now, but the windows are still overexposed while in the source shot they are not.) But I think I'm in business, for now.

David, You might find this note helpful: https://ptgui.com/whatsnew.html?version=120000 .  As to Tone Mapping or Exposure Fusion, this is a matter of taste.  Exposure Fusion can give a more natural appearance, while Tone Mapping offers more drastic control but with the risk of unseemly artifacts that some people either like or don't notice.  When the results don't quite meet your requirements, note that PTGui can output stitched blend planes for merging in alternative HDR and Exposure Fusion applications.
