Hi

I've read that with PTGui 12 all bracketed sets are merged to HDR. Then the HDR images are blended into a panorama

Is it possible to export all the merged hdr images as exr,  before they are blended together into a panorama?

Hi Arlo,

No I'm sorry, this is not supported. Actually the HDR merging happens
after the images are warped.

You can merge bracketed sets individually, see 7.8:

Thank you Joost

that was exactly the trick that I was using
But correct me if I'm wrong, if I choose Edit -> Fit Panorama, PTGui exports a warped image
For example, with a 5 bracket Canon 5D IV cr2 (resolution 5796x3870) I can export an exr with a resolution of 5794x3870
The HDR is perfect, like all the HDRs that we get from PTGui, but I'm afraid I have a small degradation of the image, due to the inner warping. Or is it just a simple crop of 2 pixels?

I shoot hundreds of bracketed images for photogrammetry, and it would be extremely useful to have an option to apply the HDR merging before the images are warped, and export all the merged HDRs, before stitching, with a single click. Would it be possible to submit it as a feature request for one of the next versions of PTGui?
This way I would be able to import either the panoramic, latlong/cubemap HDRIs stitched by PTGui, and/or the single HDR images from PTGui, all inside the photogrammetry software

Best regards

Hi Arlo,

If you use rectilinear as the Lens Type and also output the panorama in
Rectilinear projection, no warping should be applied. If this still
happens, please make sure that the lens correction settings are set to 0
in the Lens Settings tab.

If you do Fit Panorama and output at the original size, you can even
switch to Nearest Neighbor projection. In this case absolutely no
interpolation will be done.

I'll add your request to the wish list.

This would be an extremely useful feature for additional processing in photogrametry software. Was it ever implemented?
