Hi Joost,

in 12.7 I've noticed the edge of the output 360 panorama doesn't seamlessly connect. Here's a screenshot for example:

Screenshot 2021-09-14 100203.png

However, when I open this project in PTGui and look through the detail viewer it looks like this:

Clipboard01.jpg

It also seems that each time i render the file, the issue presents slightly differently, but it's always there.

I'm uploading the files to google drive and will send the link through to the support email shortly. My apologies about the size of the payload, it's the only way I can be sure you'll be able to replicate the issue. I tried rendering with 25% resized files but the problem was not as easily visible.

Thank in advance!

Oh I meant to say, the arrows in the top left of the 2nd screenshot are pointing to the seam location in PTGUI. It seems that, on render, this seam may not be created here

In which program do you view that image? And did you post-process it in
any way or is this straight from PTGui?

Hey Erik,

I tested viewing it in both Photoshop (using filter -> offset to rotate the panorama so I can compare the seam) and in Nuke, both have the same symptom.

I also tried loading the output into the ptgui viewer but since the raw output file is very dark, and the ptgui viewer has no controls for exposure, it's impossible to see the problem with this method.

Which other adjustments did you do?

In photoshop try to first do the offset rotate, then do other
adjustments. photoshop is notorious about not respecting the 360° seam
for certain adjustments, especially if layers are involved.

For a test you can also adjust the exposure in the Post Process flyout
menu in Panorama Editor before creating the panorama.

In which format do you create it?

Which other adjustments did you do?

When I did the adjustments in Photoshop I wasn't baking them in, only adding an exposure adjustment layer on top of the panorama. Either way, it won't have affected the seams to cause this issue as it was just an exposure adjustment to bring the brightness up.

For a test you can also adjust the exposure in the Post Process flyout
menu in Panorama Editor before creating the panorama.

As I mentioned in the first post, the 2nd screenshot shows the PTGui interface preview of the panorama before building the panorama and it shows the correct visual where there is no problem at the edge points.

In which format do you create it?

32 bit EXR Format

Cheers again,

Hi Joost,

Checking in to see if you've managed to replicate my issue on your end yet as I have several panorama's waiting to be re-stitched.
I understand it might take some time to fix, just checking in on it :)

Hi Joost,

Do you know if this issue is supposed to be fixed in 12.8?.
The changelog mentions "Fixed: possible blending artifacts when outputting at larger than optimum size." but I'm not sure if this is the same issue as I am doing some new renders and still experiencing the issue on 12.8.

Attached is a screenshot of the seam area stitched on 12.8

Thanks!

Okay thanks Joost, I would double check my renders and email the support address with the project files if I confirm I'm still having issues.

Thanks,
