I exported my ptgui project into photoshop, touched up the blends, and rendered the equirectangular file.  I then brought it into Pano2QTVR so I could convert to cube faces.  I then photoshopped out the tripod and reconverted the cube faces back to an equirectangular image.  Now I can't figure out for the life of me how I can take this single equirectangular image back into PTGui to change the projection to stereographic down.  Please help!!!!!!!!!  Thank you!

Start a new ptgui project, open the equirectangular in ptgui or drag it on it. Set the lens setting to equirectangular and reset all lens correction values to 0, set FOV to 360

Now go to the editor menus and choose stereo graphic down projection

Hope I said it right as I am writing this from memory without having ptgui open.

The process is very similar to the method of 5.28; just pick a different panorama projection:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!  It's been over a year since I've done this and I blanked out on this step.  So simple too.
