I shoot in Raw+Jpg. I'd like to try JPGs in PTGui  first to find if the images can be stiched good enough, and if yes then save the project which let's say has 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.gpg etc. in the project folder. Then process Raw files and replace files in folder with their counterparts produced by Raw converter. Start the project and see new versions in PTGui. Unfortunately this approach doesn't work. Although the project file .pts is just a text file and doesn't contain images, somehow I see the old versions of images via PTGui interface as well as in the stiched final panorama jpg file. PTGui program keeps somewhere the original files and when you replace files initially used in the folder, the project continues to use old versions.
Is there any way to replace the old versions with new ones without rebuilding the project from the scratch?

Thank you

In PTGui you can use the Replace button on Source Images tab. However,
this will replace one image at a time only. If you want to change all
images open the pts file with a text editor and search and replace .jpg
by .tif. Image files need to be in the same folder for this.

That surely cannot be true. If you generate jpeg files that replace the original files (with the same names), PTGui will open the new files when the project is opened.  In any case, you would be wise to generate tiff files rather than jpeg files, which would require you to take the actions Erik suggested.

Hi,

PTGui does not keep any copies of the files, so I can't explain this.
Normally it should auto reload the modified source images, but if this
fails a restart of PTGui should surely give you the new images.

This unusual behaviour of PTGui was received on the VMWare virtual machine and USB drive. After I got your answer, I repeated the process and got the same bad result. Then I stopped VM, rebooted my PC and started again. Everything works fine now.
I do not have any explanation but some kind of glitch.
Thank you very much.
