Hi all,

As some users have reported, after updating to the latest (Windows)
driver for NVIDIA GPUs, all jpeg output from PTGui has changed into
colorful garbage. This seems to be due to a bug in the driver.

If you see this problem, verify if your system is affected by going to
Options - Advanced; in the GPU acceleration sections you would see
'Driver version: 378.49'

The problem can be worked around immedately by disabling GPU
acceleration, or by changing the output format to TIFF.

And it can be solved by installing an older version of nvidias driver.
To do so, go to:
http://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx
Enter the hardware details, then download and install driver version 376.33.

PTGui 10.0.16 has a workaround for this driver bug, so the problem can
be solved by upgrading PTGui to the latest version.

Well, on my system (Nvidia 1060 - 6Gb, Win 10 - 1607) the new driver and PTGui 10.0.16 does not allow OpenCL.  Is this the "workaround"?

I re-loaded driver V 378.49 and OpenCL works and jpg output is fine.

Hi Ian,

That's strange. Could you re-install the latest nvidia driver (and
reboot), then do Help - System Information in PTGui 10.0.16?

Be sure to install the driver straight from
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Windows may update your graphics drivers automatically, but somehow this
may not include a 64 bit openCL runtime. Downloading the driver from
nvidia should fix this.

Hi Joost

Downloaded and installed using the "clean install" option and everything is OK.  I have attached sys info file if you want to have a look.

There is this line in the file but I have no idea of the significance:

CL_DEVICE_HALF_FP_CONFIG: OpenCL error: CL_INVALID_VALUE (-30) in function clgetDeviceInfo

Many Thanks

Ian
