Very strange behavoir here. The system works great on my Mac's but
when I run a HDRI pano under windows 7 64 the Quicktime VR file will
not play on any machine (Windows or Mac)
the preview looks good and the HDRI output as .exr looks fine as well.
I tried using the alternative viewer DevalVR player (Unicode) with the
same result (blank viewer window)
any suggestions would be much appreciated

Rick, I generated an LDR tonemapped output directly in .mov format and
it played fine on my Windows 7 64bit system in both QTVR and DevalVR
players, so it doesn't seem to be a general fault affecting all such
projects.

Hi Rick,

QuickTime does not support HDR images. But I assume you mean you are
outputting a tone mapped panorama, which is just a regular LDR image?

Can you render the same QTVR on your windows and mac machines and post
both, so we can see the problem? You can share large files through
(e.g.) http://ge.tt/

I get a problem with preview on Windows 7 64 Bit.
The preview tab in PTGui does nothing when I quick Preview.
And the preview window invoked from the viewer window invokes windows
media player which displays 6 cube faces as a slideshow and then
closes.
Is there a way for me to configure another preview program?
I don't have quicktime installed, because I heard that VR viewer
support was dropped in recent versions.

Is the related to the above issue?

Tools|Options|Viewers and set up the viewers for the relevant projections, my preference is to use FSPviewer http://www.fsoft.it/panorama/FSPViewer.htm for spherical etc.

Hi Rich,

QuickTime 7 (which is the latest Windows version) still supports QTVR files.

For alternatives see 5.31:

Yesterday I installed Quicktime 7 and associated the filetype with the
Quicktime. I still see the same behaviour. Is there a setting I need
to change within PTGui also?

So if you double click on a .mov file, does this open QuickTime?
