I downloaded the Linux app from the official website and followed the website instructions for installing and activating it via the Ubuntu terminal. The terminal informed me that "PTGui was installed successfully!" and the PTGui and PTGui Viewer icons appeared on the Desktop. However, when I click them the app fails to launch.

Hi Malcolm,

Probably a needed dependency is missing. Ubuntu will log an error to the
journal if this happens, it's not displayed on screen.

Open a terminal window and type
journalctl --follow --user
This will log errors to the terminal window.

Then launch PTGui and check for any errors. You can probably deduct the
package name from the error message; if not please post here.

And please let me know anyway, so I can update the linux instructions.

Kind regards,

Thanks Joost. I have attached the error messages from the terminal window when I attempted to launch first PTGui and then PTGui Viewer from the desktop icons.
Cheers, Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

I see you are opening the PTGui Viewer, not PTGui.

The error says GLU is missing. You can install it using:
sudo apt install libglu1-mesa

There might be more missing libraries. If PTGui still doesn't launch
then you can repeat the procedure.

Kind regards,
