Hi all,

A new PTGui 12 beta version is available! There are lots of improvements
in this update. In short:

- Exposure Fusion is now supported

- Blend planes are available again. In fact PTGui now supports two
workflows for HDR:
1: merge bracketed, then stitch (as in the previous beta)
2: stitch to blend planes, then merge to HDR (as in PTGui 11)
Automatic optimum seam placement is supported in both.

- Many improvements related to color management

- New 'post process' side bar in the panorama editor

- Better white balance adustment

- Improved tone mapping

- Much better image quality when working with RAW/DNG source images

- Improved metadata support

For the full list of changes see:
https://www.ptgui.com/beta.html#updates

As always, to update from the previous beta version, do Help - Check for
Updates.

Hi Toni,

Ah, yes PTGui is using an API which is available in 10.12 and later.
This will be fixed, PTGui 12 will eventually run on macOS 10.9 and later.

Kind regards,

Is there any trial version available? (I'm using PTGui Pro v11.27 now).

Yes.  Just go to the PTGui web site and follow the download links for V12.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the download link.

And yes, blend planes and exposure fusion are now available in PTGui 12

Hi Joost,
You did a fantastic job with that 12th version! It didn't take me long to be convinced and buy it.
Now I do notice something who bothers me a little. With previous versions, I've always used Exposure Fusion as the look it gives was perfect to my taste.
I notice the rendering is a bit different using PTGui v12, it's less contrasty and the colors are a bit flatter. I tried to play with some of the settings but couldn't find a way to match the rendering of v11.
I was wondering if you know which settings could be used to have the same look as with the previous version.

I'm not sure if this has been addressed already but I've issues with the Detail Viewer and the PTGui Viewer.
The Detail Viewer shows no stitching issues but when I use the PTGui Viewer some stitching issues appear
.

Something I forgot to mention: there are no seams passing there, so I'm not sure why the Viewer shows a stitching issue.

Hi Laurent,

It seems that the stitcher has placed the seams differently than shown
in the preview. If you could make the files available (support at
ptgui.com) I'll take a look.

This was a bug; the seam preview in the panorama editor did not match
the seams in the stitched panorama. It's fixed now in beta 6.
