I am attempting to create a panorama from 19 TIF images, all with similar exposures. These are from an aerial survey of the Oregon Trail done by the Oregon Department of Transportation in 1971.

Attached are screenshots showing (1) the original photos before they are aligned and blended into a panorama and (2) after the panorama is created.

If I select only 4 or 5 images, the resulting panorama turns out fine, with no variation in exposure.

Does anyone know what is going on here?

Thanks, Robin

Hi Robert,

I think there is a small brightness gradient in your images; the right
hand side is slightly brighter than the left hand side.

If you tell PTGui to optimize the brightness of each individual source
image, it will brighten the right hand neighbor of each image, to
accommodate for the difference.

To fix it, go to the Exposure/HDR tab, click Settings, and change to
"Brightness: disabled". Click OK and press Optimize Now! in the
Exposure/HDR tab.

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse
