Questions & Wishes

Since this is my first post and first of all : THANK YOU for your
great software !
I take the opportunity of the latest v9.1beta1 to let you know a
couple of questions & wishes, hoping that you could take them into
account in a next official release.
1- Pano Editor : most (at least to me) important wishes :
1.1- There should be a way to enter the spacing (in degrees) of the
guide-grid, NUMERICALLY. Alternatively, you could add a Tooltip (or
figure in the status bar) showing the actual guide spacing (say : by
steps of integer degrees) while dragging the small arrow at the bottom
of display.
1.2- Same wish as regards the yellow crop lines (top, bottom, left,
right). This would be useful to predict and know the actual H and V
FoV of the final pano, for example before processing in other sw like
Pano2VR. By the way, those values could appear and be adjusted in the
"Pano Settings" Tab.
1.3- Litle lifting : enhancing the color of the central lines of the
grid could ease the reading of the current pitch & yaw of the
projection.
2- Pano Editor : After using the new feature "Align to Grid", I have
to re-initialize and optimize the project in order to display the
"normal" choosen projection. Is there an easier way to "cancel" the
"Align to Grid" view ? If not, I suggest to add a button or checkbox
that toggles between both views.
3- When travelling, I sometimes use my netbook to process my panos.
Unfortunately, its screen resoution is only 1024x600 px. Some boxes
are flying off the display, at the top. This occurs in particular with
the "Settings" dialog, from the "Create" Tab. I have to use the tricky
<Alt>+<Space> key combination to bring it back. Can the box position
be reminded in the config file ?
4- I end this post with just "Nice to have's"
4.1- pls. add some new projections (e.g. Miller, sinusoidal...)
4.2- In the "Options/Control Point Generator" dialog, is it possible
to implement a "sensivity" parameter, which would also apply to the
new "Generate Control Points here" feature ? I tested that new feature
and get a "Could not find..." although it seemed visually obvious to
do it manually.
Thank you once again for PTGui, which I enjoy everyday.

At the bottom of Align to Grid there's a checkbox 'Adjust field of view and projection'. If enabled, PTGui will adjust the field of view and projection of the panorama such that the panorama fills the entire canvas. If you disable this checkbox your current settings are kept.

I should mention that the new "Generate Control Points here" only works if the images are already aligned roughly, so it knows where to look (approximately) for the matching point.
If that wasn't the problem, could you make the images and project available for testing?

FWIW - Even after you've done as Joost outlined, sometimes the
bounding rectangle's size in conjunction with its degree of overlap
with an adjoining image may come back with null results, so ensure
that when defining the area on one image that it actually is visible
in the second image.
Hi Joost - Idea: Draw bounding boxes on both images while in the
Control Points tab.
