Hi,

Yes I'm aware of this, I will investigate.

For now it might work if you output DNGs without alpha channel (click
'Settings' in the Create Panorama tab).

Kind regards,

Hey Joost,

thank you for your swift answer. I tried all kinds of Combinations - Resize / With and without Alpha, etc.
I Tried Re-Exporting it with ACR and Adobe DNG Converter, even Apple Photos.

Sadly nothing worked so far.

I have been in Contact with Capture One Support - No clear answer here yet.

Looking forward to the solution.

Hi Martin,

I thought there was an issue but actually Capture One (16.3.5) was able
to open the DNG images I created with PTGui 13 beta 8.

It might be a size issue, have you tried outputting a smaller panorama?

If you can't solve the issue, could you make your project available so I
can try?

Kind regards,

Hey Joost,

I tried it again, and with different sizes. Capture One still doesn't recognize my DNG Files. Currently I am Running Capture One 16.4.6.20
I have send the Images Files to the Capture One Support. They didn't get it to work either.

Attached you can find the Files and my Project.

Maybe if you could send the panorama that worked for you, I could try it on my computer?

Hey,

sorry, must have forgotten to check the right box. You now have permission to the files.
I tried your file and it is working for me just fine as well.

So far I only have tried to stitch Drone Panoramas. Maybe there is a correlation?
Capture One Support told me something might be wrong due to some Metadata?

I will try to stitch a panorama from my Camara this afternoon.

Hi Martin,

I can see the problem. C1 is just ignoring the file when importing. I'll
see if a workaround is possible.

Hi Martin,

Well this is a very weird one. C1 seems to be choking if the Exif 'Make'
tag is set to Hasselblad.

More specifically, if the DNG file contains demosaiced data (such as
those produced by PTGui) and the Make is set to 'Hasselblad' then C1
silently refuses to open it.

But if I change 'Hasselblad' to 'Hasselbald' or to 'Canon' then it will
open the image.

It will open the original non-demosaiced Hasselblad images just fine.

I will try to file a bug report with them.

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse

Below is what I got back from CaptureOne support.

It's even weirder than I thought: you cannot open the stitched DNG
panorama from your DJI drone (which has a Hasselblad branded camera) in
Capture One due to some apparent rivalry between competitors.

As a workaround, modify the metadata using Exiftool:
exiftool -Make="HasselXblad" panorama.dng
and then C1 will open the file.

HI Joost

Yes, thats correct. Capture One is not supporting Hasselblad files.

Here’s the latest statement from Rafael Orta, CEO of Capture One:
We have noticed the requests for supporting Hasselblad cameras from our
community, and we have responded to them. Unfortunately it’s not the
answer y’all likely want to hear.

Providing support for a camera, especially a high-end Hasselblad, is not
simple.

Ideally we’re able to work very closely with manufacturers to carefully
calibrate colors and lenses, to make sure their files consistently and
predictably look beautiful in Capture One, across many different
lighting conditions and photography scenarios.

It’s a matter of public record that the relationship between Phase One
and Hasselblad became antagonistic over time, and as I’m sure y’all know
from life experience, it takes a second to blow up a bridge and a very
long time to rebuild it.

So, I’m not going to say never, but I can’t commit to a timeline either.
In the interest of openness and transparency, we’ve taken the public
stance of saying that it’s “Not currently planned”, and we will of
course update that information if and when circumstances allow.

We appreciate the engagement and ideas from our community and we remain
committed to offering you innovative and powerful photography software
at a time of intense change in the industry.
