Hello

I am interested in shooting cylindrical objects(specifically the details on them such as the label of a wine bottle) and making the final image a wide horizontal format.
I use a turntable and shoot the required number of shots(36-72) then have PTGui stitch them together.

Does anyone have advice related to the amount of shots needed or the best way shoot 360 views of objects and the projection in PTGui that would best stitch the images whilst reducing distortion?

Many thanks

If you are talking about an object 360 photography that is not for be processed with PTGui. No way to stitch the images in a single image.
You can be interested in softwares like Pano2vr or KRPano. You don't need to stitch images, those software keeps on the fly the necessary
image to display it. 24 images for a single row object is the minimum, more shots you add more fluid will be the movement of the object.
