Hi,

I'm trying to create a 12000 x 6000 px spherical panorama.
Everything looks fine, PTGui has finished the stitching but unable to save the output file.
The final panorama should be around 100-120MB in size. There is only a small 1.3MB file.

Opening up in PS the image is completely black. Only one in 5 tries I end up with something on the top of the image. (see attached tiff)
It seems that the saving procedure has stopped at the beginning.

Using PTGui 9.1.6 on MacOSX 10.7.5.

Thanks, Andras

Hi,

Try to do a save as on your PTGui file and change the name of your output filename so it's not because there is a locked file in that same directory that prevents the save operation.

skywalker: tried and failed again :(

I forgot to mention that I set Enblend as blender. When I selected PTGui as blender it went through! Nice 127 MB tiff file was created.
It seems to me that Enfuse/Enblend has an upper resolution limit...

What is the max output resolution of enblend?

Certainly not 12000 pixels:
http://enblend.sourceforge.net/gigapixel.htm

However, enblend could be the culprit anyway. There are versions without
image cache, which might cause such problems.

But why would you want to use enblend? Seam optimization is far better
in smartblend (which I successfully used for projects up to 15000x7500
pixels). And PTGui internal blender is much faster if you don't need
seam optimization.

Sorry, missed that you are on Mac: To run smartblend see here:

Hi Erik,

Sometimes PTGui blender can't blend certain things nicely, that is why I'm going with Enblend.
Smartblend doesn't work with tone mapping. Although I do have smartblend on my system for years now.
If I remember correctly my fellow hungarian figured out the way how to use smartblend on a mac :)
I'm using 'enblend-enfuse-4.0-mac.tar.gz' (sourceforge).
I see that version 4.1.1 is out as well but couldn't locate the mac binary file.
The largest I can output now is a bit above 10000 px.

What version you do use to output 15000x7500?

I use exposure fusion (or SNS-HDR) before stitching. Much faster and
easier to stitch and post process.

It should contain two versions. One called enblend-openmp and one only
enblend. I don't know which one you use, but try the other one.

It is contained in the latest hugin test build:
http://tinyurl.com/cc6ewmd (130 MB DMG)

That was with smartblend.

I'll try them...

My package is a bundle, it has both files (normal, openmp) of enblend and enfuse. I only use enblend in PTGui. I'll try the openmp later.

I did copy the enblend plugin from hugin release into /Appications/enblend-enfuse-4.1.1-mac/  folder.
In PTGui the Enblend plugin path points to this folder. Now i got this error. What else should I copy to the enblend folder?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with Mac. However, I'd try to copy the mention
dylib file into the enblend folder.

I guess if you install the complete package you get a working copy of
enblend automatically.

Anyway, thanks for your help Erik.
Unfortunately there is no enblend package in the mac version of hugin release. It is just bundled into the hugin.app.
So I don't know how can I install the hugin release of enblend 4.1.1 under PTGui.
Can anyone help me to make it work? Or should I start a new topic for this?
