You can certainly output as .jpg and as .tif, .psd, .psb as well. All
very well suited for "photoshopping". Just check Create Panorama tab...

Hi Luc,

My apologies, I didn't know I was causing work for anyone else.  I did go through the forums, but unfortunately I found the answers not right…at least I could not get them to work properly.  I am not computer literate by any stretch, so I will try my best and hopefully not have to post questions in the forum as I don't want to cause issues for you.

Hi David,

I pasted your question in Google and I got 22,500 results.

I am amazed to read questions like yours. Did you do any search by yourself before sending your big HELP on this forum? Anyway, Erik already gave you the answer.

Luc

David, That's fair enough. It maybe that we don't properly understand
what you are trying to do. If you say what you have tried and in what
way it does't work, maybe we can suggest what is going wrong. On the
face of it, it looks like you are simply asking how the format for the
output file can be selected to be JPEG. Yet that is the default
output setting anyway. But the actual question asked was "Is there a
way to convert files in PTGUI to .jpg?", which could mean something
more specific. If so, please clarify.

It would be pertinent to comment on the wisdom of using JEPG format in
relation to image editing with Photoshop or any other program. JPEG
is a lossy format in which a degree of image quality is irretrievably
lost each time the file is saved to disc, in exchange for the benefits
of compressing the image data into a smaller file size. The balance
between quality and compression is controlled by a quality parameter.
Best practice is to use a lossless format such as TIFF or PSD/PSB,
which preserves the image data 100% intact with only a relatively
small degree of compression. Picky people will also prefer to use
16bit files too. Only when the editing process is complete should the
image be finally rendered in JPEG format, according to the use to be
made of the file.

Hi David,

Go to the Create Panorama tab and choose
File Format: JPEG (.jpg)

Then the stitched panorama will be in jpeg format.

When you are at the Create Panorama screen, you should be able to find a
dropdown box I think that gives you choices on output format.

David, When the Create Panorama tab is displayed, visit Help->Help For
This Screen, where you will find full details of all the options
available.
