I'm trying to install PTStitcherNG

As follows :
http://webuser.fh-furtwangen.de/~dersch/PTStitcherNG/PTStitcherNG0.7b.zip
Unzip the folder - take out mac folder - unzip it looking up

PTStitcherNG.app.zip file inside mac folder ( already that feels
strange ) - unzip it
Then I put "mac" folder into my applications ( I rename it to PT
stitcherNG ) .
Then in PTGui - - Under Panorama Tools/ PTStitcherNG I use Browse
button to point to

/Applications/PTStitcherNG-mac/PTStitcherNG.app

That doesn't work ...

I thought this one would easy as I got Smartblend ( Win ! ) to
work ...
( Wim showed me that one in Plymouth )
Any suggestions ? Thank you .

the additional zipped up ptstitcherng.app that comes with it is only
an apple script wrapper app, about 70KB. this is not the actual
ptstitcher.
the actual executable you want to put into the ptgui prefs is the
819KB unix executable PTStitcherNG.

just ignore the apple script app, and use the real one.

Hello Jan,

Wim from Plymouth here ;-)

Just donwload the ZIP from Prof.Helmut Dersch's website and put is "as
is" in the Application folder.
For compatibility with future versions it is best not to rename
folders of files inside the download folder.
Only change the name of the download folder, from folder (and future
ones) you remove the version (0.7b) so after trimming the name of the
download folder is just "PTStitcherNG"

In PTGui prefs you set in the Panorama Tools tab the path to
PTStitcherNG with this line:

/Applications/PTStitcherNG/mac/PTStitcherNG

In the Command line parameters field below the path field you can
enter the advanced options of PTSTitcherNG, you find them in the file
"PTStitcherNG_man.pdf" but you can leave this field blank if you don't
need them.

For stitching you choose "PTStitcherNG" in the Create Panorama tab,
you can't choose the blender as it will be ignored by PTSTitcherNG
(PTSTitcherNG has it own integrated blender) so you can leave the
setting for the blender on the default setting.

When there is a new version of PTSTitcherNG available all you have to
do is trim the name of the download folder to "PTSTitcherNG" and
replace the older version with the newer version.
This way the path in PTGui will be fine for future updates of
PTSTitcherNG.

Success,
Wim

Thanks you very much both Joergen and Wim -

Wim you have a great educational talent .

Yes It works now !

- the only issue I'm worried with is PTStitcherNG
gives me a file with stripped color profile ( input images have Argb -
created pano have no profile embedded ) .

( PTGui stitcher results in a file with correct profiling )
Is this a known issue ?
Regarding PTStitcherNG - is there some more advantage with it beside
its better speed ?

Thank you Wim again for your help in Plymouth -
I think smartblend is a great help for panos like this :
