Hello all.

I’ve been experiencing severe mis-stitching issues when processing images from the Insta360 X5 in PTGui Pro 13.3.
The stitched panoramas appear warpedmisaligned, and sometimes completely distorted — as if control points or projection settings are incorrect.

This issue started recently; older projects using the same workflow stitched fine before.

Bellow is a google drive containing Stitched TIff files and Raw DNG files

Hi Markos,

I got a good result in PTGui Pro 13.3 without any hassle.

Start PTGui, drop IMG_20251014_155058_00_092.dng onto it, press Align
Images. See attached result.

If this doesn't work for you, please try this:

Do File - Reset Default Project Settings
Go to the Lens Database and delete everything
Go to the Camera Database and delete everything

Does that solve the problem?

Kind regards,

Hi Markos,

Is that the "warped, misaligned, and sometimes completely distorted" you
were referring to?

I assume the result can be improved with an extra control point, but in
small spaces some stitching errors are unavoidable when using multiple
cameras. See 4.10:

Proceeding as per Joost's instructions, I found that the Align Images operation generated only 1 control point!  After adding more points manually (with some points to straighten verticals), the glitch at the zenith stubbornly resisted all attempts to eliminate that.  However, It was not difficult to deal with that by converting  the equirectangular image to cube faces and editing the zenith in Photoshop.

The exterior panorama stitched perfectly well, however.  That project file could probably be used as a template for easy stitching of other projects not containing features close to the camera.
