Hi there,
many of my panos are shot in bracketing to get difficult light situations like sunset right.
Usually I shoot 3 raw images and sometimes 5 to get a better dynamic range.
After stitching in PTGui as an HDR pano, I export as .DNG to edit it in Photoshop.
In my experience the DNG has a much lower dynamic range than the original light and dark raw images. Even in PTGui with lowering the Post Process Exposure it's not anything like the dark raw image. At this point it's necessary to manually stitch a dark pano and blend it then.
I initially thought that PTGui puts in all the available data into into a DNG with much higher dynamic range.
However this is not the case, the dynamic range of the HDR pano is sometimes even worse than just using the normal exposure.
Is there any workflow, where I can use a better dynamic range for my panos?
Thank you!
Best
Jonathan
