Hello,

I am using PTGui Pro 13.9 and I need to export two versions of the same panorama that must match perfectly for blending.

I have one normal/ambient panorama and one flash panorama of the same scene. I want to export both versions with exactly the same alignment, crop, projection, and output size, so I can blend them later in Photoshop and other software.

At the moment I can use “Include/Exclude Images” to switch between ambient and flash images before rendering.

However, I would like to avoid using two separate project copies, because if I accidentally optimize or change something in one copy, the alignment between both outputs could be lost.

Is there a way to define image groups or output versions inside one PTGui project, for example:

  • ambient images only

  • flash images only

and then export each version without changing the geometry?

What is the recommended workflow for this?

Thank you!

Yes, this is possible. There is no automatic grouping functionality,
though. But on Source Images tab you can shift+click (start image to end
image) or ctrl+click (individual images) to select images. Once you are
done you can (in the right click menu or in Images menu) either Include
all selected images or Include all but selected images. This would
switch inclusion between the selected and unselected images. On Create
Panorama tab you can create either version. Just remember to give them a
different name.

Thank you, that helps.

So switching the included/excluded images inside one project is much easier now, without selecting each image individually.

I would like to clarify one remaining point:

My ambient set is a 3-exposure bracket, while the flash set contains already merged/processed flash images.

Besides switching the included images, I may also need slightly different Panorama Editor / Create Panorama settings for each output.

Is there a way to save two output configurations or presets inside the same PTGui project, for example one for the ambient/HDR output and one for the flash output, while keeping the same optimized geometry?

Or do these settings always have to be changed manually before rendering each version?

Thanks!

Perhaps you can use templates. See Project Settings tab, Template
behavior section what templates can do for you. Note mouse over hints.

I don't know your exact requirements, but it could well be you can apply
just the settings you need this way.

I find the simplest (and most accurate) way to do this is to input, align, optimize, and selectively mask ALL the images together in a single PTGui project.  Then, under the Create Panorama tab, deselect one set of images individually so you can stitch the other.  Next, reselect these images and deselect the other set, then stitch and output again (saving as a different file name).

The results are two pixel-matched panoramas that can be combined or used independently via Photoshop or other imaging tools.
