Hi,

I'm interested in this Notebook:

 https://www.notebook.de/lenovo-thinkpad-p14s-gen-2-21a0-ryzen-7-pro-5850u-19-ghz-amd-pr-p-155412?atyp=nb

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U / 1.9 GHz (4.4 GHz) / 16 MB Cache

GPU: AMD Radeon Graphics

Since this is will be used for Photo / Video Editing and Panorama stitching with PTGui the Question is: Does PTGui suppurt GPU accelaration with the integrated GPU?

Kind regards

Jochen

Hi Jochen,

There were some problems in the past with AMD integrated GPUs and
OpenCL, PTGui would only work with GPU acceleration disabled. I'm not
sure if this is fixed in recent drivers.

Also, generally there not much of a performance boost with integrated
GPUs in PTGui.

Kind regards,

Hi Joost,
thanks for the answer. There is another Version of this Notebook with Intel Iris + Nvidia Quadro T500 with 4GB. Might this be better?
My PC at home is using a very old Gtx980Ti and with this the stitching is quite fast. I dont have a compare to actual GPU.

Is there a way to run PTGui from USB drive so I could check in the store if its possible to enable GPU acceleration?

Kind regards
Jochen

Hi Jochen,

Yes the Nvidia Quadro T500 will work. To get any idea of the
performance, you would need to run PTGui on the actual hardware.

Yes you can run PTGui from an USB drive, just copy C:\Program
Files\PTGui to the drive. When you run it, PTGui will need to be
activated on the computer. This requires internet access (or use offline
activation via another computer). Don't forget to deactivate PTGui when
you are done.

Hi Joost,
one last Question please:
All I need to check is if I can enable the GPU accelaration in the options or am I wrong? Is this also working with the Trial Version?
Just checked, I use the PTGui Pro version because of HDR Panorama function.

kind regards

Hi Jochen,

You would need to run an actual stitching jobs. With the AMD integrated
GPU I've seen stitches finish succesfully but with garbled output. I
guess you would also want to try to see the performance.

Trial version is fine, and you don't need to activate it online.
