What is the sensor size for the Nikon Coolscan 8000 ED that I should use when starting a new project in PTGui ?

Hi Michael, 

I don't have the exact data, but I think that what you are looking for can be calculated from the information given in this article.


Remember that the sensor of most scanners are linear sensor, not area sensor. 

In this case, I estimate an effective sensor of about 62x82 mm or maybe 2-4 mm more (it depends on the 35 mm film size you take, as the nominal is 24x36 mm but sliders usually show only about 23x35 mm).

Hi Michael,

Are you using it to scan camera negatives? Then you would need to use
the negative's size (likely 24x36 mm).
