Hi !

Some times ago, I had found an article explaining how to load -and save- VR files in Goodreader (on an iPad) ! I managed to do it and I have a nice spherical panorama stocked !

In Goodreader, I have a directory containing: 1 directory "IMAGES", containing 12 *.JPG images, 1 *.HTML file (named by the VR file), 1 *.XML file (also named by the VR file) and a file Pano2VR_player.js ! (I used Pano2VR to create the VR file). That works allright !

Now, I'd like to load some more 360x180 files on my iPad, but I just do not remember HOW TO do that...

Anybody has a clue ? Many thanks in advance to give a thorough explanation...

:-)

Haaaa ! Thanks a lot, Karel ! I knew that the solution would come quickly from a member !

Now, I will copy this link somewhere in my HD, under a name easy to remember/find when needed !

Have a great week-end !

Hi !

I tried to follow the PANO2VR "Using GoodReader for Offline Viewing" tutorial, but found it very confuse and complicated ! I found another way to load and view spherical panoramas made with Pano2VR !

BTW, I use a Nikon D800 with the 10.5 fisheye, and I make a 12000x6000 equirectangular file. As an example, I called the file _DSC9002-019.TIF.

You will need in your iPad, Good-Reader -of course-, but also DROPBOX !

In order to get a usable "full screen" view of the VR image (with the iPad in "landscape" position)

1) Create -on desktop- a new directory and copy/paste the equirectangular file.
2) Load the equirectangular image in Pano2VR, define the Pan, Tilt and FoV parameters.
3) Click on "Output", chose HTML5" and click on "Add".
4) On the first page, set the optimal Cube Face Size to1096 px, Image Quality to 90, Display Windows Size to 1024 x 768 (the iPad 2 full screen). Then set Autorotate Pan Speed to 0.15, Delay to 3.0 and Return to Horizon to 3.0. No change in the second, third and fourth page. Click OK.

A window "Create the Output file xxxx.xml now"? opens. Click OK. A window "The project must be saved....." opens. Click OK. A window with Save the project Pano2VR" opens the "New Directory" directory. Click SAVE. The usual browser opens and show the VR image. You might quit.

Next, open the "New Directory", where you should now have (as for my file example):

Directory IMAGES
_DSC9002-019.TIF (which you MUST delete: it's not useful anymore)
_DSC9002-019.html
_DSC9002-019.out
_DSC9002-019_out.xml
pano2vr_player.js

Grab the directory and the 3 files and paste them into Winzip. Create a *.zip file, named as you like.
Grab the XXX.zip file and paste it in DROPBOX.

On your iPad, open DROPBOX, wait until the *.zip file loads, then double-tap on it. Tap on the little_square_with_an_arrow_up (on top right of screen), chose "Open In..." then tap on "Open in GoodReader" ! A window appear, tap on UNZIP ! A new window "My Documents" opens, where you will find the XXX.ZIP file (which you can delete), and a directory named XXX ! Tap on it and ultimately tap on the _DSC9002-019.html file !

The full-screen VR image appear, where you can zoom in/out and play, as usual !

Hope I've been clear enough ? I found this way much simpler (indeed) than the Garden Gnome tutorial !

Have fun....
