Hello guys

In order to photoshop the "poles" of my panorama, in example to paint away the tripod from the ground I converted my HDR Spherical Panorama to a Cubemap (it´s in "Tools"9. After that I would be happy to get the image back in a Equirectangulat/spherical form. Is there any way I can do that using the PT Guy Tools ?
There is Website for that; 360toolkit but the image is 3 GIG (50.000x25.00 pixels) and therefore to heavy to Up and Download several images of this size.So I´m looking for a solution inside PT GUI.

THX !

Just load your cube face images in PTGui ! It will reconstruct the equirectangular image !!

H...but if I load the images there no control points because no overlapping of the 6 images...and there is no option "cubemap to spherical". That´s kind of weird as there is the option export to cubemap...

Hi Marco,

If you give the images the right names, and the images are square, PTGui
will recognize this and assemble them automatically.

The names should be:
xxxxx.front.jpg
xxxxx.right.jpg
xxxxx.back.jpg
xxxxx.left.jpg
xxxxx.top.jpg
xxxxx.bottom.jpg
(or .tif, etc)

That's the easy way. There's also a manual way, but please try renaming
your images and see if that works.

Kind regards,

I have done this with the 6 cube faces with my version of PTGui (v11.32).  The resulting spherical pano (single image) has a fine line artifact along all edges of six images.  Is there a way (a setting) to fix this?  Thank you.

Hi,

I think you can fix this in PTGui 11 by switching to alpha blending. See
the 'blending mode' setting in the Create Panorama tab.

If this doesn't fix it, reduce the lens focal length (in Lens Settings)
by a very tiny fraction. This enlarges the cube faces slightly so they
overlap.

Thank you.  I got it to work.  The alpha blending did not change it.
But I left that setting (used: alpha blending) and then changed the
focal length to 15.27 mm (90.1 deg) and that did the trick!  Now it is
perfect.  This was to produce a 16x8k pano from 4x4k cube faces.  Thanks!
