Hi
I am testing the stitching of images from the Mini 3 Pro: DNGs developed into TIFF using Capture One Pro 23.
I am getting decent results in Capture One when coming directly from the DNGs. It also works in Photoshop 2023 – and finally in Autopano Giga – but unfortunately not in PT Gui 12.22. There are more than enough control points found by the application.
What can be the reason? I have attached screens of the three images, screen in C1 and two screens from PTGui. Thanks for your help.
Markus

Hi Markus,

The stitching looks fine, it's just that the panorama is shifted and
split at the edge. In the panorama editor you can simply drag the
panorama towards the left or the right.

This happens because PTGui reads the metadata from the drone and
positions the images based on the recorded yaw. This happens to be at
180 degrees.

I'm also seeing a very find grid in your screenshot; you can adjust this
by dragging the little triangle in the middle below the panorama.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

The panorama can also be got into the correct position by clicking the "Center Panorama"  in the Panorama Editor Edit menu, followed by "Fit Panorama".  Set the projection type to Rectilinear.  (Or use the corresponding icons in the task bar in the task bar at the top).

Thanks for your help John and Joost

It worked finally  but it is really strange that the result shows in the spherical mode – and you see two parts of the panorama.

Centering and fitting results in an image that is upside down.

Is there a way for having things in a more direct way?

Best, Markus

Hi Markus,

You can disable this feature in PTGui. Before loading the images, press
Advanced in the side bar. Then go to Project Settings. Scroll down to
the bottom, under Misecellaneous and unselect this checkbox:

Position images automatically using metadata from the camera's
orientation sensor

Then proceed with loading the images.
