.jp2 not able to save in PS 24 / PS Beta on mac

OSC ventura / macstudio M2 / 128 GB ram 

In most recent PS and Beta 
I can open.jp2 file but after making changes it cannot be saved - 
PS crashes always ( tried 3 different versions of PS ) 
I can though open a TIFF / jpeg file and resave it as JPEG2000 
with extension .jpf 
Anyone seeing this  ?

would it be difficult to extend  PTGui file   formats  for .jpf extension ? 
( supported in PS )

I'll investigate. It's an somewhat different file format, not just a
different extension.
