Hey guys,

I want to start including videos on my 360 panoramas. I realized that's possible by using Panotour Pro+Live Pano plugin. However, I surfed the website of the company Kolor and found out that they cost together 600 euros. Besides, I'm a PTgui user but Kolor.com says that in order to use LivePano I have to nake the panoramas with Autopano Pro/Giga that sums a lot of additional money to the already 600 euros. That's why I wanted to ask:

1- Does someone use the LivePano plugin? is it true that it works only with panoramas generated by Autopano?
2- Does anyone knows any alternativa to LivePano to insert videos in a 360 virtual tour? Do you know to do it with KRpano?

I appreciate your help,

Juan Infante

Hello Juan

I am a Ptgui user and also Livepano user. The only way Livepano will work is with both Panotour Pro and Autopano Giga.

Basically Autopano Giga is much the same as Ptgui, but it is the original *.pano file that is created that can only be read with Livepano.

So Panotour Pro + Livepano + Ptgui does not work for video.

You must also remember that the final render is only as qood as the video footage. So even if you shoot hi-res you are probably only going to get 1920 x 1280 individual frame resolution.

I use Canon 5D MkII with 15mm fisheye, and get pretty good results. I am still a bit of a novice with this, but can get this to work.

I think the Gopro route is worth a look too.

Sadly it is quite costly, but it allows you to do things that haven't previously been possible.

Good luck!

Mike

Juan,
An alternative solution to put aligned video inside a panorama is Pano2VR. See
this tutorial on how to do it.

Wow, Jim, I didn't realize that Pano2VR could do anything like this! Good to know, though it seems a rather long and complicated process...

Hi Juan,

with the help of Trausti I could integrate a video by using Flashificator:

Well, I don't know, if I could do it again.

Best regards

Harald
