I am trying to load test mobile app with Apache Jmeter but facing a typical problem. I have done all the required configuration like setting the domain, server name, port in Jmeter. I have also configured my android phone by installing Root CA file, setting the Host name with Jmeter system's IP, tried port to both 8080 and 8888, IP settings to DHCP, Proxy to Manual but whenever both the system and android device are on the same Wifi network, android device is getting disconnected from the internet and the recording is getting stuck. So can somebody please help me on this.

  1. JMeter needs to be able to connect to the Internet first of all, if it cannot - there will be no Internet on the mobile device. If you're behind the proxy - you need to make JMeter aware of this proxy
  2. Just installing the certificate is not enough, you need to amend the application's you're going to record network security settings and explicitly allow trusting user-installed certificates like it's described in Configure Android Devices for Proxy Recording article
