If I connect to our group's computing system on my iPod Touch with
pterm 2.2.1, and then try to run an X-windows program such as xclock,
then I get a 'can't open display' error message. Can some X-terminal
expert tell me how to avoid this problem? I _can_ run X-windows
programs from my Mac OK, by opening up X11 and sending an ssh -X
command, but I can't use that approach on my iPod.

No need for anyone to respond to that, as one 'Alice' has emailed me
indicating (as confirmed by our computer manager) that pterm does not
in fact purport to do what I was hoping it would do (what it can
usefully do that the free TouchTerm can't seems a little nebulous but
no doubt there is the odd difference).
