Be at "The Cabin" in North Park March 4th at 7pm...

As the friends and colleagues of Stefan “Pfundi” Pfundstein will be
honoring him by making a memorial gift to Friends of North Park. That
check will then be given to PTAG and used to build a new mountain
biking trail in North Park.

Stefan, who passed away unexpectedly in 2009, worked for Siemens Water
Technologies in Warrendale. He was on an expatriate contract living
in Pittsburgh from Konstanz Germany.

According to Siemens employee Adam Kupec, “Stefan made a real impact
at our office and in the company. He was a great person to work with
and most importantly he made friends with everyone.” Stefan was also
an avid mountain biker who frequently would ride on the trails in
North Park after work or on weekends. Because of this, Stefan’s
colleagues at Siemens have collected over $2,200 that will be donated
to Friends of North Park and then given to the Pittsburgh Trails
Advocacy Group (PTAG), who will use the funds to build a new mountain
biking trail in North Park that will be named after Stefan.

The donation will be made at the Friends of North Park meeting being
held at 7:00 PM on Thursday March 4 at the Cabin located near the
intersection of Babcock Boulevard and Ingomar Road. This meeting is
open to the public, and will be attended by Stefan’s parents, who are
visiting from Germany. The meeting will begin with a presentation
from PTAG about the work they have done building and maintaining a
network of multi-use trails in North Park, and how they plan to
memorialize Stefan, who was affectionately referred to as “Pfundi” by
those who knew him.
