I walked the trails at PV Park today and the damage from Friday’s storm is quite extensive. This is much, much worse than the winter damage from the heavy snow. There are a lot of trees down on Red Maple Trail, a few on Chestnut, Hornbeam , and Hank’s. The hemlock trees on Hemlock Trail are destroyed; we might just need to relocate a portion of that trail. There is a lot of work to be done just to reopen the trails.
If you can make it, I’d appreciate your help at 10 AM Sunday April 18. We’ve already got a couple of chain saws, but could use more people. Bring gloves, hand saws, loppers, and the like. We will only work on clearing blown down trees from the recent storm. If you can’t make it at 10 and show up later, just listen for the chainsaws and you’ll find us!
