problem with selecting in audio track

Hi All,
i hope i can explain what the problem is in good english. I'm not a native speaker while living in the netherlands.
I was trying to automate volume in a vocal track.
Select a peace of audio. Starting changing the selection using option plus numpad plus en minus and command numpad plus and minus.
Before starting editing i changed the nudge value to 50 ticks.
But instead of changing my selection some times the selection jumps to the start or to the end of the track.
What amn i doing wrong?

Hello Tom!

I think that you habe to add the Shift key to the mentioned key combinations.
Does that help?
