I'm sure a couple of people downloaded the free SoundToys H3000 plug-in when it was available a while ago but I'm not sure how many users here have used the rest of their plug-ins. Aside from the H3000, I don't recall any mention of SoundToys among users on the list. I've liked the SoundToys stuff when working at other studios but it was always in a situation where I was working with an assistant so I never had a chance to truly examine the accessibility. Well, I finally had a chance to sit down with the SoundToys 5 bundle and was pleasantly surprised. Specifically, what I've found is that the plug-in parameter layout in the plug-in view follows the layout on the control surface without exception, as far as I can tell. In addition, there's no extra "zero parameter" as we see in so many other plug-in views. That's a mystery to me but, hey, they seem to be doing something right.

Had I known during their Black Friday sale period, I would have shared that on the list earlier but I didn't get around to it until this morning. Their sale is over for now but I'm sure there will be another one at some point. I'd say it's worth it. It's native and not DSP but, for most people on the list, that doesn't really matter and, even for HD users, these are the kinds of plug-ins you'd normally instantiate after DSP so it's all good. I'm pretty sure everything's available as a trial version as well so you can try the stuff for yourselves. Anyway, good stuff.

I use two or  more of these Sound Toys plug ins in almost all my mix and/or mastering, Decapitator and Echo Boy first of all. I confirm: zero accessibility problems for the parameters both via control surface and VO. Only the presets folder is not accessible and this is a pity because they are actually very useful, the the presets are in .toy and it's not possible to rename them. Anyway i got both Decapitator and Echo Boy presets library in .tfx in case anyone need them i will be glad to send them or trade them with i.e. Phase Mistress, Crystalizer etc. presets.

I think its worth noting that for any users without a control surface some parameters will take an age to change,, the low and high cut values in certain plugs for example. Still plenty usible though just not as friendly as the stock aax plugs when it comes to adjusting some parameters with the keyboard.

Hth,

P.s. Nick or Slau, I'd love any presets you may have saved out...particularly decapitater and echo boy

Hi Nick,
Perhaps you'd consider sharing the preset files on ProToolsWithSpeech.com. Several people have contributed preset file folders. The more we have there, the better for all users.

Cheers,

Slau

True, for those parameters with a particularly wide range, a control surface speeds things up immensely, I'm sure. I've only begun to use this bundle at the studio yesterday so I have no presets saved out yet. Maybe Nick can post a DropBox link to the handful that he has already.

Best,
Slau

I could sure use those plug in presets. I use faze mistress, Echo boy, Chrystliser, Decapitator and a couple other ones that I can’t remember right now, and if you have any of these presets and would want to share them that would be great. I haven’t had anyone to save any for me. I have focused on the wave presets for so long and my friend who used to save them is out of my city now.

Hi Nick,

Ah, of course, the stuff is up there. I completely forgot. Since I didn't have that bundle at the time, I simply glazed over the Soundtoys presets there. Go to:
and I see that there's a Crystallizer folder there as well. Did you say you were looking for that?
Cheers,
Slau

Thanks. I don't think that link came through on your last message.

i downloaded the Crystalizer preset library and noticed the presets are sorted outside the factory folder, so .  I put each preset under their appropriate category for my need - i just imagined myself scrolling down and up hundred of weird labels in search of what i'll looking for after some hours mixing :-)  :-) if anyone need the new folder, ,, here's the link for the download : https://www.dropbox.com/s/36g0r2edg8zswjo/Crystallizer.zip?dl=0,. I also noticed that the folders named: Mirrorball music, Morgan Page, New for V4 and Peter Wad are missing. In the future i'll try to provide them if i can. Thanks very much  to the person who transcribed so many bizarre names for the huge work!

I’m not sure why, but I couldn’t get that link to work. I can always check out the pro tools with speech sight if it’s a hassle.

Papa,
If you click on it, the resulting page has a linked simply labelled "Download" and a clickable item that says, "Save to My Drop Box Folder." Once you click on that item, the item transforms to a button to save it right to your Drop Box folder. Either method should work.
HTH,
Slau
