Hello. Today I installed the latest version of flotools 2020. Three. One. While I was working on a project, suddenly I noticed that I was no longer able to double tab on a key. For example, I tried double tapping the T to change the name of the track and it wouldn’t take it. I tried all of the double tapping keys combinations and none of them worked. I tried deactivating the inspector and activating it again and still it will not work. Is this a flo tools issue or did I change something in ProTools? I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Regards

Hi Charles, not sure if you tried this already but, save your work and reboot your system and you should be good to go. Let me know if that solves any issue.
Best,
slau

Yes, I tried restarting the computer. That did not work. I also re-install ProTools and reinstall flotools and that didn’t help either. are there any settings in the OS that would prevent the double tapping keys from working? I don’t know what else to do.

Hello Charles!

Are you able to tap the keys once with success?
If so, did you try to increase the double tapping speed a bit?

Best! / Martin

Hello. Yes, when I tap the keys ones, they announce what they are supposed to announce. However, I try double tapping as fast as I could and it doesn’t work at all.

Just a suggestion (and this is almost counterintuitive): sometimes people, when trying to double-tap, tend to try to tap the keys harder rather than faster and, technically, it's easier to tap faster with a lighter touch. Try tapping lighter but faster. Let me know if that works better.

For future reference, you virtually never have to reinstall Flo Tools unless you've inadvertently delete macro groups or macros or edit macros in some way.

I have tried pressing the keys in many different ways and it doesn’t work. I have been using flo tools for a couple of years and never had a problem with double tapping keys. I’m starting to think that there’s something else going on either with the OS or perhaps the keyboard?

Did you make sure that the flo tools template was loaded? I'm just throwing things out there. Also, did you recently update ProTools to the latest version? If so, some of those settings will have to be changed back to the way they were before. This is happened to me.

Hi Charles,
Hmm, that's unusual and perhaps you're right, Perhaps it is something related to catalina. I'll reach out off list.

This happened to me yesterday, and from time to time.
I have not updated to the latest version of FloTools yet, but what
fixed it for me yesterday was simply just opening up the KM
application, instead of relying on the setting that allows the KM
engine to run at start-up.
I would assume that this equated to the fact that maybe not all of the
macros were active or something, until I opened the application.
This may be way off-base, but it seemed to work for me.
Other times, a shutdown of Protools or a system bounce do the trick.
Just my two cents. Hope it helps.
