How do you generate silence?

Hi guys:

Morning all! Could anyone help me with how to generate silence in
ProTools usind laptop? Plus, how do you rewind and fast forward using
laptop as oppose to desktop keyboard? Thanks I'd greatly appreciate.

Select the area where you want silence and press Command Shift E. It's also right in the Edit menu.
shift comma and Shift period are for rewind and fast forward through a track.
