Commands issue finally solved

I'm at a loss. I ran a disk permissions scan, rebooted, unplugged and replugged everything in my studio, and reinstalled ProTools. After following Slau's detailed instructions, even that didn't fix the issue.
Only after unplugging and replugging , it's now working.
I have no idea what was causing the problem. I'm as stumped as most of you.
What's really odd about this which still has me very intrigued is the fact that when the problem was occurring, I still could arm tracks, mute, or even solo them just fine by clicking the enable toggles in the track channel strips themselves, which tells me that it's not like the inputs/outputs weren't active. If they weren't, wouldn't that have meant that even doing that wouldn't a worked?
This may be chuffed up to one of those mystories we just never figure out, but just say, it's working now, so be happy.
