Hi All,
After i split a drum kit in different tracks some things e.g. Typing W don't tells me if i am in notes or clips.
After some searching i find that track height has been changed. It shoult be Medium but single Notes is ticked.
Why is this and is it possible that after splitting that track height stays medium?

Tom.

Hi Tom,

Depending on how you split the track (i.e. all notes to separate tracks), perhaps the expected behavior is to make the track height single note. Imagine if you split a drum track with 30 different notes, if they were all set to medium height, one would have to scroll up and down the Edit window constantly. Of course, this pertains to sighted users more so but, even for a screen reader user, the navigation would surely be effected. With more tracks visible in the timeline, there would be fewer instances of having to navigate left and right rather than up and down. Of course, you could always select the tracks and increase track height.

Hi Slau,
Thank you! I understand this behaviour.
Just one question: how can i change track height for more than one track at once?
Tom.

Hi Tom,

Control+Up and Down arrow will adjust the height of a selected track. If multiple tracks are selected, it'll apply the change to all of the selected tracks. Be aware that tracks will change relative to each other. This means that, if various sizes are present, they will all change in tandem relative to each other. Therefore, it's a good idea, for example, to press Control+Up Arrow a bunch of times. This will ensure that the track heights all reach the biggest size which is "extreme." Then 3 pressess of Control+Down Arrow will bring the size of all selected tracks down to "medium."

The other method would be to select the tracks and, in the Edit window, interact with one of the selected tracks and Option+Shift+click on the first control and choose "medium" from the menu. Alternatively, you can also just Option+click to set all tracks to that height as well. If you use flo Tools, turn Flo Mouse on with Command+Forward Slash and you can easily perform modified mouse clicks which VoiceOver doesn't support natively. Pressing modifiers along with the Tilde key (below the escape key) will issue the mouse click.

HTH,
Slau
