Hello!

After installing the AIR Instrument Expansion Pack there are two DB-33
folders in my Applications\Air folder.
"DB-33" and "DB-33FX".
Pro Tools only showes the "DB-33" one.
Does anybody know, what to do with the other one?

Thanks and best! / Martin

That’s more than likely for built-in FX for the instrument, like reverbs and modulations, which would be applied in the DB33 plugin window.

The folder contains the default MIDI assignment along with the preset files to use in Pro Tools. Move them into the Plug-in Settings folder.

Hello Slau!

Should I copy the folder DB-33FX into the Plug-In Settings folder directly or into the DB-33 folder

Thank you! / Martin

Actually, I just took a look and those are different presets. The ones in the DB-33 folder (within a folder simply called "Presets") should be moved into a folder titled "DB-33" in your Plug-in Settings folder. If the folder isn't already there, create it and dump the TFX files in there within the folder structure that begins with Preview, etc. The TFX files in the FX folder can also be moved into the same folder but should probably reside on the top layer. Frankly, I wouldn't bother moving the TFX files from the FX folder. There are only 3 files: slow, fast and something else I can't remember. There's no point to those presets as those are simply parameters that can either be changed through automation or with the mod wheel anyway.
HTH,
slau

Hello Slau and thanks for explaining.

That was exactly what I did before contacting the list.
The problem is, that non of the presets is shown in the plug-in window in Pro Tools.
I tried to rename the files to match the others and I also changed the folder structure with no luck.
Finally I created a folder called “DB-33FX” on the top level for all plug-in settings but also with no better result.
Maybe the Air installer copied some files to a wrong location and something is missing to work in Pro Tools.

Best! / Martin

I only was talking about the presets for DB-33FX.
The ones for DB-33 were already in the right place.

Best! / Martin

Hi Martin,
There's no plug-in named DB-33 FX so creating a folder for it will not accomplish anything. I'm not sure what you meant by changing the folder structure. There's no need to change anything about the structure of the files and folders. Simply copy the folder named "Presets" into your Plug-in Settings folder and rename the folder to DB-33 instead of "Presets." That's all that needs to be done. I'm not sure what the purpose of those 3 preset files are in the FX folder. Perhaps a read through of the manual will answer that but I have no use for those 3 presets so I can't shed any light on that front. If you do figure out anything, keep us posted.
Slau
