A perpetual would mean continued access to it for years, assuming you had it on a physical ILocc and didn't have any computer issues IE: didn't upgrade your OS unless you needed to.
A subscription means you're always on the latest version, but if you have issues with your card, or something goes wrong and you miss a payment, you're screwed and can't open pro tools or any of your sessions.
I'm not a fan of the subscription model for most things but especially not for a daw. Thats my own opinion though. I'm sure others here think the opposite.
Theres also the rise in price for a subscription, which avid can and have done at any moment with little or no warning. With a perpetual you'd pay once and then have access to it until you wanted or needed to upgrade, whenever that is. Its a bigger downpayment, but its more use out of it at a time.

Would it be more worth to get a perpetual license for pro tools then having to pay for pro tools every month? What are the advantages advantages of that versus say the monthly subscription.
