Hi All,

This is my first time posting, but i've been quietly monitoring the group for a number of years now.

I'm interested in what success anyone has had with Izotope Rx5 as a stand alone program with VO. I'm working to use it to remove background noise on voiceover files. A tutorial would be great, but I'll take any tips and tricks

Thanks in advance,
Abigail

Sorry i can’t speak to 5 as i am still on 4 but if the interface hasn’t changed to much you should still be able to do some clean up work. The problem is probably with more difficult things given that we can’t really use the spetograph  but should still be able to get a lot done. I’ll see if i can’t upgrade to 5 sooner rather than later since i been meaning to and see if i can’t be more helpful.

Hi Abigail,

Hope all's well. Nice to see you on the list.

The stand-alone version of RX5 is usable but it's somewhat clumsy. Most of all, I find the selection of ranges of audio to be the biggest obstacle. If you're processing entire files, it's not an issue but, for sections of audio within a larger range, I wouldn't even think of trying the stand-alone version. Apart from that, it's got some jaw-dropping capabilities. As Steven mentioned, The spectragram isn't at all accessible and it will never be as it is a purely visual representation but there is much that can be accomplished with the other modules.

HTH,
Slau

Hi Abagail. I don't have an answer for you, but iZotope were very
kean on making their products accessible to screen readers at one
time. oZone is quite accessible and I believe they implemented some
accessibility support in RX as well. This was several years ago though.

What you could do is contact iZotope and ask if RX 5 is accessible.
If the person you talk to isn't sure, point them to:
https://www.izotope.com/en/company/press-room/press-releases/2010/izotope-expands-support-to-accessibility-software/

and maybe ask if you can play wiht a copy of RX and give them
feedback on what they can improve.

Have any of you worked with the batch processing module?
