I recently contacted Sweetwater about amplitube max. My problem was I thought my plug-ins were not showing up because the button I clicked on only said factory default. After using team viewer, and agent describe to me the screen. When I go down into the plug-in, voiceover is missing the default button that I need to click to bring up the presets. My question is, can I create a Macro using Keyboard Maestro that will put me on that button, or, will flo tools help me with it by creating a plug-in view?
If I could find a solution for this, all of my IK multimedia plug-ins would be somewhat accessible. Thanks for the help!

Hi Jimmy,
Either Keyboard Maestro or Flo Tools will indeed help. First, a question: When clicking on that control, does a standard menu open so that you can simply arrow up and down and VoiceOVer speaks the menu items? If so, you're all set. Second, you'll need to place the mouse pointer right on the spot that needs to be clicked and, with Flo Mouse enabled, press Command+Option+Shift+c  to speak and copy to the clipboard the current mouse coordinates. Let's get that far first and we'll take the next steps after that.

Hi, yes, if my wife clicks on the spot, I can control the menu.

OK, perfect. Put the mouse pointer right over that spot and, with Flo Mouse enabled (Command+forward slash), press the shortcut for speaking and copying the current mouse coordinates to the clipboard. The shortcut is Command Option Shift C. Paste that information here in your email message. Also, with the plug-in loaded, go to the Menu Extras over to the Keyboard Maestro Engine menu and select "Display Plug-in View Template."  In the resulting dialog, copy the text and paste that here as well. We'll create either a macro or Plug-in View easily.

Just to check, my wife put the cursor on the spot that needed to be clicked. Voiceover would not read the menu. It stayed within the plug-in window. I don't know what that means, but it will not read the menu when she clicks it.

I don't understand what you mean by VoiceOver not moving from the plug-in window. Is there something you're not communicating? The place you need to click is within the plug-in window, is it not?

If I load AmpliTube and move to the end of the window, i vo down into the plug in knobs.  The agent from Sweetwater said that it was a picture of an amp. Voiceover will not go low enough to get the button that pulls up the preset browser. When my wife clicked on the button my cursor stays on the knobs and doesn't move to the menu to make selections.

OK, never mind that the VoiceOver cursor stays where it sees the automation parameters. You put the mouse pointer where you'd click and press Command Option Shift C, The coordinates are spoken and copied to the clipboard. This, of course, will only happen if Flo Mouse is enabled with Command Forward Slash. Pase those coordinates here along with the other stuff I detailed.

Jimmy,
There's something amiss here. When Fo Tools speaks and copies the coordinates, It's formatted with two numbers and a comma between them. The number at the top of your message has no comma. Did you simply paste the contents of the clipboard? Flo Tools wouldn't make a mistake like that. Did you possibly just type the numbers from memory? We need to make sure you have the coordinates correct or else it won't work. LMK

Right, this looks correct. First, I'll do a simple plug-in View that'll let you easily get to that button. Stay tuned…

I received the plug-in view file. After placing it in the correct location I ran the plug-in. Everything announces like it should but when I click on the preset button with VO space, nothing happens. I don't know if this is something that we are going to be able to fix. Just thought I'd let you know, thanks for all your help. If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear them.

OK, try the following:
With Flo Mouse enabled, press Command Option Shift W.
Enter the following:
84,123
and press Return.
Get visual verification that the mouse pointer has in fact moved to the preset button.
This method works for many plug-ins. Providing you were correct in saying that VoiceOver read the menu once the button was clicked, there should be no issue.

Ok, i got Christie to sit and describe it to me.  She put the mouse in a little square on the screen. When she clicks of the mouse voiceover does not read the menu. But, after trying what you said, the cursor moves to the correct spot. Trying to contact IK multimedia it's like trying to contact the dead. She has help me do some presets, so I will drop them into the dropbox folder this afternoon when I get home.

Hi jimmie,

Cool!
Save the presets in to the Pt side and save some time!
I did this with the waves presets way back.
As you modify them just save as and make a folder for your own custom presets!

Hi Jimmy,
OK, so you've verified that Flo Mouse is working but the menu, once opened, is not speaking. There's little that you can do except perhaps have your wife select the presets and you can save them individually as Pro Tools presets. I noticed that the parameter names are an unuseful collection of generic names. Beyond calling up presets, you'll be shooting in the dark with those parameters unless you create a reference sheet for yourself. Anyway, good luck.
