Hi guys:

Happy Sunday to you all! Hope everyone is doing very well in this
atmosphere. I'm trying to import some session data, but I can't seem
to get it right. So far, I did shift option I to import and selected
the .ptx file I want to import. I then pushed okay in the subsequent
windows that popped up. By the time, I get back into the mix window of
the main session I was working with, I couldn't find the imported
session. What did I do wrong? Or what more do I need to do? Please
help! Your time and 2cents will greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Best,

Dammie

What kind of data are you trying to import? Tracks? Window configurations? Routing assignments? Markers? There's all kinds of data. If it's tracks that you wish to import, you need to set that up in the Tracks table of the dialog. HTH, slau.

Hi Slau:

I was actually trying to import tracks from a session. I didn't know
you have to specify what you want from the session. I thought the
tracks automatically import once you select the session until I found
a YouTube tutorial on session data import. On finding that, I went
back into the session and went through the import window, where I
found the track's table, and then hold down shift VO key and down
arrowto access it and select the tracks I wanted. Next, I pushed Shift
VO key and up arrow to leave the table. I then moved to the end of the
window to hit open, followed by okay on the next window. To my
surprise, I have all the selected three tracks in the session. I
couldn't be more happier to have learned something new. I suppose
that's the way, Slau? If there be another way, I'll be glad to learn
too. Thanks for your time and response. God bless!

Best,

Dammie

How do you import tracks, what commands must be used in order to import tracks considering that I have recently updated to the new version of pro tools but I also think that I missed the flo tools update. Thank you for any information that you might have concerning these questions.

Hi Dingram:

The short-cut for importing tracks into a session hasn't changed. It's
still Shift Command I. I hope this finds you well. God bless!

Best,

Dammie
