Hi guys. I have a major issue importing audio into protools. When i hit command shift i to bring up the import audio dialogue i get the following message.
Could not complete the Import Audio command because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/196038/ProTools/NewFileLibs/Cfd/MacOS/Cfd_ImportAudioDialogMacOS.mm", line 603.

I can’t go any further. it won’t let me look for a file or anything from here.

So I trashed the preferences, and problem is still there. I can’t complete this job, and i have a huge dead line.Is there anything i should be doing. Or is this a reformat computer fix.
Please help ASAP. really stuck.

I am running PT 12.61 on Hi seirra.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

My only other thought is to update protools to the latest version 12.8 i think it is. Is it possible 12.61 is not compatible with hi sierra.

Bingo. Not even 12.8.2 is High Sierra compatible. So, essentially, you've committed the first crime of using Pro Tools by upgrading beyond the supported OS. Sometimes it's not a big deal but other times it is. Sorry, man.

Throw that error message into Google and you'll see that the problem is related to unsupported OS.

One thing I will say, however, is that the recent beta for 12.8.2 was clearly being used to test for High Sierra so there's a good chance that, if you update to 12.8.2, a simple task like importing audio will work just fine.

would i be able to ask a stupid Question. Can you remind me again where to look in protools for the updates. I have never updated pt without sighted assistance.

Do I need to do anything to continue to have flo tools working. Or do I just update protools.

Log into your Avid account and go to My Products and downloads. You'll find the latest version there, providing your subscription is up to date.
