Because of Apple’s non disclosure agreement, developers can’t reveal specifics about new technologies unfortunately.

I can however say definitively, regardless of Yosemite, you can pretty much do everything now with a combination of Logic and Pro Tools, although the latter is only if you’re stuck in your ways like me and haven’t learned your way around Logic properly yet.

Maybe if you say what sorts of things you need to do on your course, we can give you more specifics.

Hope this helps,

Well, that's not quite true. Logic Pro X doesn't seem to let you add
effects to tracks accessibly, or indeed change effect parameters. -
unless I'm missing something. So, at the moment, it's Tools all the
way. I'm not expecting this to change with the initial version of
Yosemite, but you never know with Apple.

I wasn’t sure on that… So often things seem not to work, and it’s just because I don’t know how to use them properly.

Thanks for clarifying.

No problem. It's just that I bought it after hearing that there had
been some accessibility improvements in 10.70 but, when you interact
with a mixer channel or in the inspector, VoiceOver says "Empty scroll
area" so you can't even see the insert slots to click on to add an
insert unfortunately. And, that's a real shame because, regions are
accessible which they're not in Tools at least not in 10. So here's
hoping they improve it, but Tools is very good now, very good.

Changing effects and EQ settings is no problem as long as you have a patch loaded and you are using smart controls.

But that doesn’t include adding and removing effects from the chain, does it?

Hi Chris,

First of all, forgive me for passing Logic traffic on the PT list.

It looks like the only things you can work with at this time are the plugs which are packaged in the patch. You can probably remove anything in the package, but, I don't think you can add new ones.

Was that a question?
