Hi John,
Great question. If you're just looking to reset all your clip gain adjustments back to zero on a track, the most straightforward way to do it is this:
- Select the track you're working on.
- Press Return to move the playhead to the start of the session.
- Press Option Shift Return to select from the start to the end of the session.
- Then press Control Shift B to clear all clip gain from the selected clips.
This will effectively reset all your clip gain edits back to 0 dB across that range.
Now, if you're also interested in ways to keep track of where you've made clip gain changes—especially since we can’t see the visual fader indicators as VoiceOver users—here are two optional strategies that might help:
1. Use Memory Locations:
You can press Enter on the numeric keypad to drop a memory location at any point where you adjust clip gain. In the dialog box that opens, you can choose to store a Selection instead of just a single point in time.
You can also give each marker a name. For example, you could label one “Boosted 3 dB” or “Reduced 2 dB” to remind yourself how much gain you adjusted in that area. This is especially helpful for blind users who rely on VoiceOver to keep track of mix decisions.
To recall a memory location, press the decimal key on the numeric keypad, then the number of the marker, then the decimal key again. For example: decimal, five, decimal. Or, open the Memory Locations window with Command plus five on the numeric keypad and navigate from there.
2. Separate Clips at Edit Points:
Another option is to press Command E to separate a clip before and after adjusting gain. This creates clearly defined clip boundaries, making it easier to Tab between changes later on.
Finally, just a quick note—I believe all the shortcut info here is accurate, but I recommend testing it out in your session just in case anything behaves differently. If you find anything off, definitely let me know.
Hope this helps!
Very respectfully,
Steve Baskis

I know this visually shows as a small fader on the clips, but I would like to know if I can at least set all clip gain faders to 0 dB for a given track.
