Hi List,
Can someone please verify that in the latest Pro Tools that split notes is not working at all?
Select/Split Notes is found in the MIDI operations window
Pro tools key command to get in to select/split notes is Option y.
Heres what I found when trying to Test Select-Split Notes, with a new PT session, old Template not used
I purposely opened a new session then programmed a midi drum kit on 1 track using midi merge, then selected the whole track, without using my pro tools templates and when I tried to split notes in this brand new session nothing happened.
Absolutely nothing except I kept having to undo “cut notes” in the edit menu!
No crashes no results.
Then I tried the other midi functions like transpose and velocity, which worked as expected!
I then programmed a mini grand piano chord with the same results.
Head scratcher! :)
Any Body having the same weirdness when trying to select midi “ notes” with the latest pro tools?
Thanks
Chuck

Hello Chuck!

After setting up a new system I wasn't able to test any MIDI related stuff until now.

Running the latest version of Pro Tools, I just selected an instrument track and opened the Select/Split Notes dialog.
Then I chose Pitch and range.
After entering the range c3 / e3 I applied the settings and closed the dialog.
Back in the session I pressed Command+X and all c3 and e3 notes were gone.

So the dialog works here or did I get you wrong?

Best wishes! / Martin
