Unless I'm reading my daily account activity wrong, it appears that Pro
Tools subscriptions have gone up for 2020 by about 50%. My former price
was $24.90-something per month, and for January, 2020, it rose to
$37-something. Any other monthly subscribers notice this?

Steve, I am not sure about the monthly subscriptions; myself.
I am interested in this as well, I had to stop my monthly subscription because I needed to pay a couple of bills. I need to get back into my monthly subscription to ProTools.
Or would it be better to purchase ProTools out rate. And then pay the yearly upgrade cost of the $99 a year?

I purchase the annual which happens to be usually on sale when I
purchase it for about $250 or so. I get it from Sweetwater which
usually has some financing deal, at least 6 months no interest and
sometimes more.

How do
you spend it?

It's always been $35.00 as long as I've been doing the yearly
subscription which has been for almost a year now.

I started in March of 2018, and it was $24.99 or something very cloe to
that, the idea being that it was $300/year. Now it's $35 (plus tax)?
Sheesh! Since I don't even use it really, I think it's time to hang it
up. LOL

I dunno. All I know is, I went through Sweetwater, and each month, they
always charge me $35.00. I've never seen it at $24.00, and you and I
have been doing the subscription almost for the same amount of time. I'm
not arguing what you're saying, please do know that! I'm just unsure
why the difference between what you pay and what I pay.

Did you go directly through Avid? I wonder if SW is somehow charging
more? That wouldn't make any sense, no, but, otherwise, IDK.

from what I remember, when I got my subscription to ProTools through Sweetwater it was $29.99 plus tax which should be $32. I am not sure, but I believe the 2495 that is being talked about is through avid themselves. Anyway I’d also like to know this.

If I remember correctly, when I got my subscription to ProTools; from Sweetwater; I only paid $29.95; with tax being there would end up being $32 and some cents. Now I’m not sure, about avid. I do believe from what I had read on the avid website that they were doing a monthly subscription for $24.95 a month. That might have gone up.
I would like to know this as well. It is quite interesting to see how the subscription models have changed this drastically.

There are two subscriptions paid monthly, an annual subscription paid
monthly which is cheaper if I remember correctly, and a straight
monthly subscription which is the more expensive option, but can be
cancelled at any time.

OK, maybwe that's it then. I'm only paying month by month; I'm not in an
anual agreement that I pay monthly.

Yes, that's correct, mine is direct through Avid.

What John said in another message makes sense. I think my two-year
contract is up, or nearly so, so now I'm on a month-to-month thing. I'll
go to avid.com and figure it out.
